I need to use office apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) on my home PC but am wondering whether there's a way to avoid having to buy the Microsoft Office suite.
If you're a home or small business user there's a really good and free alternative to Microsoft Office. The app I'm referring to is Google Docs which is a cloud-based app including the Google alternatives to all of the key Microsoft Office apps. Be mindful, though, that the cloud-based nature of Google apps means that you've got to have a connection to the internet in order to access the apps. That said it's also really easy to access your work from any internet connected computer/laptop. Furthermore it's also really easy to share your documents and collaborate with others.
