Why does my PC or laptop not connect to the internet? If I look at the status of the network connection it says 'connected' with 'local access only'.
This can be a tricky one to resolve because there are quite a few factors involved. However if the problem affects just one PC or laptop and other phones or laptops are able to connect to the internet via the same router then there's a high probability that the issue lies within the affected laptop or PC's network adapter's driver or configuration. To test this theory out open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then clicking Diagnose and repair. If that step doesn't resolve the issue go ahead and uninstall and reinstall the network adapter via the Device Manager.
